Greendale – September 1, 2018
For years our generation grew up watching an American TV classic known as “The Golden Girls”. The series began back in 1985, long before Adult Family Homes were in existence and before Senior Living Communities became what they are today. The sitcom took place in a private home located in Miami, where four mature women shared life’s struggles with aging and celebrated life’s memories in an entertaining way. Although, the concept of sharing living expenses is not new, college kids and young professionals share apartments all the time, now the concept is catching on with the senior population with “Adult Family Homes”. Health Network of Wisconsin is opening an Adult Family Home in the Village of Greendale to provide a unique and positive experience for seniors who want to remain in a home like setting with supportive personnel on staff.
Adult Family Homes are licensed through the State of Wisconsin and require criminal background checks. The house manager is certified and responsible for providing all the supportive care for the residents, help with medications and prepare healthy and nutritious meals.
Suzanne Navin of Health Network of Wisconsin looks forward to opening Oak Haven of Greendale and to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors. This 4-bedroom ranch will become home to four seniors who want to share the joys of their golden years together. For more information about this home, please call: 414-763-5154
